Last week, the AMAZING-6G project consortium gathered in the vibrant city of Thessaloniki, Greece, for its 4th Plenary Meeting. Held from May 5th to 7th, 2026, project partners convened to align technical efforts, review the status of Work Packages (WPs), and define the next steps.
The meeting, hosted by CERTH, featured a comprehensive agenda ranging from administrative reviews to deep technical dives:
- Day 1: Overview and Architecture: The event opened with a project overview and a technical analysis. Discussions focused on critical milestones for system architecture (WP2) and technology enablers (WP3) essential for the current phase.
- Day 2: Use Case Deep Dives: The second day utilized parallel sessions dedicated to the project’s vertical domains: Health & Public Safety (WP4), Energy (WP5), and Transport (WP6). These sessions facilitated detailed discussions on trial statuses, mid-term review preparations, and the development of robust business models.
- Day 3: Strategy and Exploitation: The final day focused on dissemination, communication, and the exploitation of results (WP8). Partners concluded with a clear roadmap for the coming months, addressing common challenges and strategic next steps.
A major highlight of the plenary was the visit to the Port of Thessaloniki (THPA). This vital logistical hub serves as a real-world stage for some of the project’s most innovative technical trials. During the visit, partners inspected the facilities where 6G solutions for transport and logistics will be validated, moving research directly from the lab to operational terrain.
This 4th Plenary Meeting not only celebrated achievements to date but also reinforced consortium cohesion as the project enters the critical trialling and evaluation phase. The commitment remains firm: transforming the European digital ecosystem through advanced network intelligence and the deployment of sustainable, secure 6G infrastructures.
